Tri Sigma's Third Annual Chili Cookoff
On November 8th 2015, the Alpha Mu chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be hosting their 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off to benefit children's play therapy.
Wristbands will be available at the event to purchase for $5.00. This $5.00 will get you as much chili as your heart desires! Come support the Robbie Page Memorial fund all while enjoying a delicious bowl(s) of chili! Free to children under 10!
Back in 1954, Sigma Sigma Sigma adopted the Robbie Page Memorial Fund as their national philanthropy. In the early 1950’s, it was Tri Sigma who helped fund the creation of therapeutic play to help children cope as well as understand their illness. This new type of treatment has allowed children to understand what must be done to ensure they get better as well as bringing ease to the minds of the families.
With your help we will be able to sponsor the building of play therapy rooms and programs in hospitals all over the country. This past year (2014-2015) the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation, with the help of our Lafayette Tri Sigma Alumnae Chapter, fiber optic lamps, a SnoCone machine, popcorn machine, and an art cart have all been donated to the Women and Children’s Hospital located here in Lafayette, Louisiana.
We have also just had our grant approved for the 2015-2016 year and have funding approved to donate a PS4, accessories, TV, video games, toys, and DVD's to Women's and Children's!
