Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities conducted an investigation in March 2021 for alleged violations. Allegations were unfounded and investigation was closed.
November 2021: Epsilon Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. was placed on Cease and Desist due to allegations of hazing.
January 2022: Alpha Kappa Alpha returned to good standing.
January 2022: Alpha Phi Alpha placed on Cease and Desist due to allegations of hazing.
March 2022: Alpha Phi Alpha is no longer under investigation. Chapter is placed back in good standing.
May 2022: Alpha Phi Alpha placed on Cease and Desist by the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership.
August 2022: Alpha Phi Alpha has been placed on suspension until May 2025.
The Theta Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. was placed on Cease and Desist in March 2023 for allegations of hazing. The chapter was found "Not Responsible" for hazing under the UL Lafayette Code of Student Conduct.
The Theta Xi Chapter was placed on a two year probation until May 2025.
The Gamma Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order was placed on Cease and Desist in November 2023, Investigation was closed in January 2024 and was unfounded. The chapter was placed back in good standing
The Gamma Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order received disciplinary suspension status as a registered student organization/fraternity effective October 2020. The organization may return to campus effective October 2021 pending approval from the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The Chapter returned to Good Standing in May 2022.
Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order regained Active status in October 2018 after previously being placed on Social Probation by National Headquarters in September of 2018. Chapter was previously placed on Probation in Spring 2018 and all activities suspended due to chapter being placed on Academic Probation with the Fraternity's National Headquarters. Chapter suspension was lifted before the beginning of the Fall 2018 semester.
Kappa Alpha Psi placed on Cease and Desist by the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership in Fall 2018. As of October 2018, Cease and Desist was lifted and chapter was placed on Probation from Office of Student Rights and Responsiblities.
May 2022: Kappa Alpha Psi were placed on Cease and Desist by the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership in April 2022. Investigation has concluded; the chapter has been placed in good standing with a verbal warning regarding OSEL policy violations. Sanctions were given by regional leadership.
Kappa Sigma placed on Cease and Desist Fall 2016 by the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership. Effective Summer 2017, Chapter was suspended from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is no longer recognized as a University Student Organization.
The Iota Omega Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha was placed on cease and desist in November 2023, Investigation was closed in January 2024 and was unfounded. The chapter was placed back in good standing
The Iota Omega Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha was placed on cease and desist in October 2020 for alleged violations of university policy in regards to a ban on in person activities.
The Chapter showcased a failure to comply with university policy and was placed on disciplinary probation until May 2021.
August 2020: The Zeta Omega Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha was placed on Cease and Desist regarding allegations of hazing. Chapter was placed on one year probation ending September 2021.
June 2022: Pi Kappa Alpha was placed on Cease and Desist by the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership in March 2022. The organization has been placed on suspension until May 2025.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon placed on cease and desist from Office of Student Engagement and Leadership effective September 2018. In Spring of 2018, chapter was placed on Alumni Receivership with all activities/events being approved through Alumni Relations Team. Chapter was also placed on Social Probation as of August 2018 per decision of Interfraternity Council Conduct Board and Process.Effective December 2018, Chapter was suspended from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is no longer recognized as a University Student Organization.
Sigma Chi placed on Interim Suspension by Office of Student Engagement and Leadership October 2018. Effective May 2019, Chapter suspension was lifted and the following sanctions were placed by the University's Student Discipline Appeals Committee: the Chapter must conduct a Membership Review, a period of Social Probation implemented, and a one (1) year period of Alumni Receivership status, all to end no earlier than May 15, 2020.
Sigma Gamma Rho regains Active Status in October of 2018 after previously being placed on Cease and Desist by Sigma Gamma Rho Headquarters in Summer 2018.
The Eta Nu Chapter of Sigma Nu was placed on Cease and Desist in November 2023, Investigation was closed in January 2024 and was unfounded. The chapter was placed back in good standing
The Eta Nu Chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity was placed on Cease and Desist in October 2021 for allegations of Hazing. The investigation concluded and allegations of hazing were deemed unfounded under the UL Lafayette Code of Student Conduct.
The Chapter regained active status in November 2021 and the Cease and Desist was lifted.
