Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards

Our Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) organizations are annually evaluated to assist the FSL community, as well as each chapter, in functioning at the most effective level possible. The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (OSEL) assess chapters on the minimum standards they should be meeting to be viable and successful members of the University’s FSL community and their national organizations. Each chapter is recognized on a 5-star scale. The chapters are judged on several criteria, including:

  • Campus/community involvement & leadership
  • Greek relations
  • Academic achievement
  • Community service & philanthropy
  • New member recruitment/retention & member education

Additionally, the Office recognizes outstanding individual members, advisors and chapters within the community. The awards are as followed:

  • Member of the Year
  • New Member of the Year
  • Outstanding Community Service
  • Advisor of the Year
  • Most Outstanding Community Service Project
  • Patricia Cottonham President of the Year
  • Unsung Hero
